清明时节雨纷纷

went to pray to my grandma on sun. annual 清明 affair.

大家扶老携幼，浩浩荡荡，热热闹闹地缅怀仙逝的家人和祖先．

the turnout is getting bigger every yr.

my bro haben been following us for the past few yrs but he came along on sun.

and my cousin brought her husband & 2 of her kids along.

tis has kinda evolved into a family gathering. we seldom mit up, onli during weddings & CNY so it was good to see my cousins.

the traffic police used to block the entrance to Fong Yun Thai along Holland Road so the onli way to drive into the compound is to go by Holland Plains.

tis yr, they stopped cars from going in rite outside the compound so there were cars parked along the road for a long distance from the compound.

mi parked liao...walking towards Fong Yun Thai...downslope so quite a leisurely walk...plus i was having my breakfast of Selera Curry Puff....hehe

and y haf i not noticed tat in all the yrs tat i pay my annual pilgrimage??

i am paying more attention to the surroundings coz i realise tat while we admire wat others haf, eg. angkor, we neglect tat singapore is oso rich in culture.

like shophouses wif exquistive designs & vibrant colours.

or the tiling along old walkways and in temples.

or the beautiful indian temples, mosques and churches...isn't chijmes a popular foto snapping location?!

while we envy the historical heritage tat others haf, let us not forget tat we are rich in our heritage too. and we do not need to go far or look hard to find evidence of our rich culture.
