Sun Morning and Minister visits
the clouds were nice on sun morning. beautiful sunny weather.
i took a shot while driving back to the east after my bak kut teh bfast.
love driving on long roads tat seem to stretch forever. too bad tis feeling can't be found in sg.
road trips are best in the US but nearest is of course m'sia.
Minister Raymond Lim visited pasir ris on Sun 23 Apr.
A huge tentage was set up & there was a carnival of sorts.
Yeow Yeow's school sent a letter asking for parents' consent for the kids to turn up on sun morning in school uniform to welcome the minister. The iternary included a part when parents have to be involved too.
the kids would get a free burger each for participation.
of course, we didn't go. tink we can still afford our own burgers and i had better things to do
juz wondering, aren't ppl oredi rushing to welcome the MPs & ministers hoo haf been doing so much for us & are doing such a brilliant job?
is there a need to make such deliberate arrangements for ppl to welcome visiting ministers & MPs?
mayb so tat it'll look better on TV.

juz saw another letter tat teo chee hian is visiting pasir ris on tis coming Sun 30 apr.
tis is for mothers' day celebration. isn't mothers' day on 14 May?
wow, the celebrations is 2 wks in advance? abit kiasu but tat's typical singaporean
wow! i feel abit 受宠若惊. i dun even noe hoo's my MP now suddenli 2 ministers visiting 2 wks in a row.
LJ hoo stays in tampines & junqiang hoo stays in bedok, both told mi to check my noticeboard when i said i duno hoo's the MP for pasir ris. my knowledge of the MPs stop at Charles Chong from 2 elections back. and meet the ppl sessions used to b held at my blk.
I hereby loudly announce tat NO, THERE IS NO PICT OF THE MP ON MY NOTICEBOARD IN PASIR RIS, MY FRIENDS!!
seems tat i haf no need to meet the MPs and the MPs haf no need to mit mi too.
since i had played no part in the selection of "my" MP, it is possible for mi NOT to know hoo "my" MP is. to mi, he is juz a guy put in tis designation by his party. and tat's the truth. ppl hoo stay in walkover estates are juz beggars wif no choices. we haf no say in hoo's "our" MPs.
i am beli grateful to the ppl hoo made it possible for mi to exercise my citizen's privilege tis time round. perhaps i should thank the same ppl hoo are contesting for my vote tat we get visiting ministers 2 wks in a row...haha

saw a banner outside the carpark abt covered walkways tat r going to b buit. wow! after 13 yrs tat i've been staying here, suddenli HDB / whichever authority is in charge of building the walkways, is 'seeing the light' and realised tat we need more covered walkways.
i noe the govt is concerned abt opposition wards not getting upgrades.
dear mi hoo is fortunate enuff to b staying in mainstream govt ruling wards is concerned tat ppl staying in my cluster of blks haf to make 200m dash from the bus-stop to my blk ( the nearest from the bus-stop ) when it rained for the past 13 yrs. but we are beggars so we haf no choice.
especialli since the bus-stop is juz outside a skool. i pity the students hoo haf been making the dash whenever it rained. their prayer is finally answered.
and hey! my hypothesis seemed to haf been proven. covered walkways are an indication tat elections are coming. haha
and if i'm staying in an opposition ward, i'll b beli tulan tat upgrades r tied to my vote.
aren't residents in opposition wards singapore citizens too?
dun they haf to pay the same tax to the same govt?
they haf every right to everything tat ppl in other wards get.
i hate emotional blackmail.
if u want my vote, all the more u should b nice to mi.
dun gif promises tat will onli b realised if u win.
since i haf lived well wifout u for all the past yrs, there is no reason i can't live well for the coming yrs wif out these newcomers.
quoting them, newcomers haf no track record to show mi they will do a good job too.
the same applies for covered walkways. while it's nice to haf, i'm sure i can live wifout covered walkways too. haven't we done tat for the past 13 yrs?!
