Rally at Tampines tonite

blogger continues to fail mi for fotos upload. sigh...wat to do..can onli write lor

went for the rally besides tampines safra wif SY & XM. we parked at LJ's place & walked over. i was late, got there ard 7.30 so tabao yam cake & bao for dinner...tat's y my stomach is growling now : (

the field was onli abt 1/3 filled when we got there ard 8. we stood besides the floodlights & were pretty near the front though we can onli see the top of the stage and not the speakers.

since tis is my 3rd nite, i m beginning to recognise the voices of the speakers.
  • the veteran in WP first explained in teochew the whole voting process to the point of burning the votes 6 mths post elections. though i can't realli speak teochew well, i was able to understand & the mani jokes the speech was peppered wif. i oso translated a bit of the speech to SY.
  • tonite is the first time i hear chia ti lik speak & he touched on a topic close to my heart.
upgrading and the shameless use of it as a political tool

the whole policy of using upgrading to threaten & discriminante against singaporeans is WRONG & we need to express our anger abt tis.

though i haf the good fortunate to b staying in a mainstream ruling party ward ( but it was nbr MY CHOICE ), i totally disagree wif the unfairness & punishing stand taken against my fellow countrymen staying in hougang.

they pay the same taxes to contribute to the 1st world pay of our ministers, didn't get xtra discount on their HDB and yet are unfairly denied of upgrading!

wat kind of warped reasoning is there to justify tis?

as fellow singaporeans, how can we condone such discrimination against our colleagues & frens? everytime i tok abt tis, i get beli tulan...if i staying in hougang tdy, i'll write to HDB everyday & complain. how dare they 'punish' citizens tis way!

and the speech was closed wif 'dun forget, one of the stars on our flag represent equality'

tis statement gave mi the shivers and nearli moved mi to tears.

and there was some brief mention of window rivets...now i shall write abt tat after hearing wat they haf to say. but i haf brought it up to my bro too tat it's ridiculous to make ppl pay for a mistake HDB made in not outfitting the windows wif the rite rivets.

HDB flat can stay for 99 yrs but windows rivets muz change so quickly??

since it onli costs 70 cents per rivet, y our rich & caring govt dun change all the window rivets for us? sureli, tat will cost them less den the progress package?

instead, we are made to rush to meet the deadline or face a fine for not retifying HDB's mistake. wat crap!
come on, u r the developer, u built the flats so dun shrink from your responsibility!

we left soon after SY managed some shots from the overhead bridge. we walked to a nearby blk & SY took more shots from the top floor.

i got a shock when i saw the aerial view of the field. i didn't realise the field was so so packed wif ppl! and there were many others outside the perimeter of the field!

and yesh, it was again a time of muddy fields but we ventured braveli on into the centre of the crowd.

after i witnessed the turnout at the rallies, i truly believe in the power of the ppl.

it is time to 还政于民

tis time ard, i haf a say. i haf a voice tat will be heard becoz i haf a choice

the more ppl are oppressed and denied the truth in its entirety, the more ppl will retaliate.

u can put the rallies at the most inconvenient locations
u can gif us muddy fields and the beach
but u can't stop singapore loving ppl from going to see the truth for themselves.
and no, u dun need to provide buses
we haf legs and we haf brains.
we will figure out how to get to where we want to be.
