My earrings

I was clearing my things when i came across these earrings. these are exactly the same & I haf 6 pairs of them. i can nbr wear them again coz these are the earrings used to pierce my ears.

i onli use red color for piercing.

so 1 pair for each piercing i did. i should haf 7 pairs so i lost a pair. i haf done 8 piercing but my first piercing was done using a needle & not using a 'gun' which uses these earrings.

i still tink 'ring' earrings are better den studs coz the ears heal better when the wounds can 'breath'.

YeowYeow

Fun with balloons

i promised yeowyeow to get him some balloons wif pump to play wif. turns out tat those small packs wif pump are called water balloons and the pump can be used to fill the balloons wif water.

hmm...reminds mi of my sec days when water balloons were all the rage. we made water bombs using little plastic bags and we played at beaches & oso in skool.

we certainly had lotsa fun!

yeowyeow was brave enuff to twist the balloons and qiqi was totally fearless. she squeezed and twisted the balloons so hard tat she burst quite a few balloons.

Additions to my desk

aren't they cute?

i got them from the capsule machines for $1 a piece. i got 3 different colors in one try...very lucky hor!

Cappucino Machine

There was lotsa excitement in the office on Thurs due to the new Cappucino machines on every floor.

Due to my very strategic seat in front of the pantry, i witnessed ppl exclaiming over the new toy the entire afternoon.

of course there was much discussion over how to use the machine too. someone suggested going to starbucks & learning a trick or 2. hehe

Lunch with Yen Nee

Ah Nee came to haf lunch wif us on thurs & to visit.

eeks, i look so horrid in tis foto!

ah nee, on the other hand, looks really shapely. juz look at her butt!

Little window cleaning drama

my original intention was to bring mom & kids wif mi to sengkang & wait for mi to do clean-up. after lunch, i changed my mind & sent them home instead.

got some professional help from pauline hoo gave mi lessons in window cleaning & packing. really impressive, my "store" room is now so neat & organised and the windows are finally clean!

we had a little drama while cleaning the living room windows. i bought a window cleaner wif extendable handle. as pauline was cleaning the outside of the window, the cleaner suddenly "broke off" in the centre. rather, the extention became loose.

there's some rain blockage thingy extending over the windows of every floor so wat we ended up wif was the cleaner hanging over my 9th floor neighbour's living room window.

we couldn't reach the cleaner except wif the long bamboo poles. it was so difficult to get a proper grip of the cleaner & hoist it back up as the bamboo poles were very heavy.

we considered pushing the cleaner over the edge so it drops to the groundfloor but we didn't want to murder anyone wif killer litter. as we sweated & toiled over tis mission impossible, we saw a pole pushing the cleaner from below!

my 9th floor neighbour has spotted us struggling wif the cleaner & decided to help. See! I haf such wonderful neighbours! she even reached out wif her hand to steady the cleaner for us.

after many failed attempts, we improvised wif clothes pegs on the ends of the bamboo poles. alas, success at last!

just look at all our props!

the window cleaner in question is the one behind the sweep pan.

Dim Sum at Punggol Nasi Lemak Centre

chauffeured the kids & mom to Lor 7 Geylang.

wanted to bring them for lunch at Punggol Nasi Lemak Centre onli to discover tat they're closed in the day!

aiyah, i thot they 24 hrs.

ended up having dim sum from Ho Kee Pau instead.

Yeowyeow had lotsa eggtarts as usual but he wants my mum to feed him.

qiqi on the other hand, insists on feeding herself & does quite a nice job. of course, she loves taking fotos too.

my 2 kids are totally fascinated by capsule machines & i nbr noticed how they haf these machines at every coffee shop we go to.

typically, after they haf had their fill, they'll station themselves in front of the machines.

Foto of Qiqi

finally got my camera fotos from my bro's laptop. besides the AWWA pictures tat i'm still owing a write-up on, i oso found tis picture of qiqi so here it is.

looks like she was trying to reach for the camera.

isn't her t-shirt lovely? hehe, the secret is, it's a family uniform! yeowyeow & mi got the same t-shirt & i love to go wif them wearing it together.

my mum doesn't appreciate it though. she asked mi "u tink u malay?" coz u noe how our malay frens will tailor make the baju kurungs for the whole family using the same fabric.

my mum used to be a seamtress so yesh, she can & used to make baju kurungs. and i tink the idea of the whole family wearing the same clothes is quite cool!

especially when yeowyeow loves to run around without supervision, at least it's easier to describe wat he is wearing when he's lost....haha

Realage Tip of the Day

check out tis tip of the day i got from Realage!

To My Friends

Plans with friends offer more than good times -- they can be lifesavers as well.

A recent study supports the theory that a large network of friends helps extend people's life spans. In the study, friendships appeared to increase people's longevity even more than family relationships did. Round up your buddies this weekend for a movie, a meal, or a chat over iced tea.

RealAge Benefit: During stressful times, strong friendships can make your RealAge from 2 to 30 years younger.

i was toking to Shu'en as I was reading tis & i told him...imagine making being 30 yrs younger!!?? we'll be MINUS 3 yrs old den.....haha

of course frens are good for u. they provide emotional support & help make leisure time so much more enjoyable.

but family is impt too. in sociology, family helps maintain social balance as ppl has an avenue to vent out frustrations & other negative emotions. let's face it. ppl, more often den not, abuse their own family more den frens. at least, i'll admit to tat. coz u are at ur most natural self wif family & u noe ur family wun hold it against u.

yeowyeow called mi last nite to ask wat time i'll b back. when i told him i'm caught in traffic but has oredi reached bedok, he told mi "i'm very angry with u." i asked him why and he answered "becoz u're not back yet."

well, he gets angry wif his sister too. and i guess kids learn abt anger by mimicking adults but the emotion is inborn. like qiqi will snatch things from yeowyeow & sulk if we scold her. she express displeasure ( i duno if it's anger or sadness ) by lowering her head, refusing to look at u & sulking.

Cute X'mas card from Annette

had probs wif my VPN on fri so didn't see the card till today. but it's really cute!! & here it is :

my kids amaze mi

yeowyeow seems to be learning about feelings. he kept asking mi "mom, are u happy?" these few days. tat's a very serious question for a 5 yr old so i answered truthfully tat yes, i am happy.

next question was "mom, why u so angry?" oops, i am guilty of being of a shorter fuse these 2 days. too little time, too much things to do. sorry son, will try to control.

good thing is, yeowyeow is at the very helpful stage. he loves to be asked to help. according to him, he's even better den 明星好幫手...hehe, definitely too much tv liao, little man.

i brought back 2 hand puppets from SK tdy & he started a conversation between Eeyore & an elephant.

"how are you feeling?'"
"are you angry?"
"are you excited?"

i don't remember his exact words when it comes to the feelings but he went on & on.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

little ppl always amaze mi. their plump little hands & feet are SOOOO.....CUTE!

and qiqi's got such a toothy grin tat she flashes all the time.

she's always so happy the whole day, being very kaypoh, answering us unexpectedly when we are toking & didn't suspect she's following the conversation, singing ( she loves to sing her own tunes ) , dancing to music on tv eg. MA-AH HI ( her fav song of the moment ) & of course, eating. tat seems to be wat she's doing all the time. demanding food from whoever is eating.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

both my darlings are sleeping now & it's time for moi to koon too.

Sigg saga

juz a quick update on tis.

Sigg has replied tat it's knitted. I emailed them back tat it's distinctly double crochet & asked for details of the knitting tat they claimed the product is made by.

I wikipedia-ed crochet yest & found a cool site crochetville tat i joined. so happy to find fellow crocheters when so few ppl crochet in singapore.

Excerpt from my thread on crochetville where i posted picture of the Sigg bottle cover for fellow crocheters to verify if they feel tat it's crochet too.

mayb i'm over reacting but i juz find it very ridiculous tat a company like Sigg can get the way their products are made wrong in the description.

i've emailed their PR person again to provide me with more details of the "knitting" method they claimed the bottle cover is manufactured by.

if they made a mistake, even if they don't do any corrective action like replacing the descriptions, they should still admit it.

yah, i guess it's the same all over the world. everyone tinks tat knitting is the only craft u do with needle & yarn...haha

Tired but happy and about clutter

juz finished (hand ) washing & rinsing a mountain of clothes i brought back from SK. tink i muz haf spent hrs in the bathroom. taking a short break now but mom juz discovered the wet clothes in the bathroom & has started hanging them out to dry. oops!

housework is no fun & no joke either! luckily pauline came along to help tdy & gave mi some lessons in cleaning windows. really useful! now, i really feel like a big load has been lifted off my shoulders wif SK cleaned up & everything moved back. and of course wif some of the clutter being thrown out as well! ) THANK YOU!! LJ & Pauline!

toking abt clutter. as i was washing the clothes, i realised there were many pieces tat i feel like throwing out. but i'm in a dilemma coz the clothes are wet. so i still haf to continue the washing & throw out the clothes later. there's really too much clutter in my life, looking at the batte zone tat my room looks like now. despite the many bags of things thrown out (of my life) over the course of the last 2 days, tink i still haf too much useless & unwanted stuff in my life. will continue my spring cleaning till my room looks decent again.

ok, my results tdy looks satisfactory...will work hard to clear my room tomolo.

my plans for tomolo ( i'm listing these down coz i wana see how much i managed to do )
-apply leathercare left the 2nd row seat on left side
-apply armorall left 2nd row
-accompany mom to temple done
-wash windows ( SK ) done
-mop floor ( SK ) done
-pack all the things in my room pending
-catch up on email pending

Busy X'mas

juz had a bz x'mas. went to carrefour wif mom, shupin & the 2 kids in tow to get the airpot & tv for my sengkang place. the crowd was not as bad as i thot. carrefour actualli delivered the tv to mi within the same day in the 4-8pm slot when i paid around 3pm!

i was going to rush back wif yeowyeow to await the tv but poor unsuspecting LJ sms-ed mi after she got back. i asked her to come along wif mi to help carry stuff back & she agreed readily. of course my original intention was for her sleep deprived highness to catch a catnap at sengkang while i packed my stuff. but she was so nice tat she helped wif my packing.

we got really hungry from the physical exertion of packing & had dinner at 267 coffeeshop before loading the car. the western is quite nice. come to tink of it, i am again feeling quite hungry. tink i'll haf some oatmeal before i zzz...

even since i discovered how savoury oatmeal wif a pinch of salt is, i'm having it everyday. qiqi loves it too...or should i say she eats everything & anything.

sven came along & be 苦力 for the leg home & tat saved LJ & moi some carrying. anyway, i finally haf some idea of where he stays, blk 122.

i've moved everything i should from SK so it's a fruitful day. onli trouble is, my room is a mess now. tink i'll get up early tomolo morning & pack the things away. abit tired now, tink i should concuss wifout the oatmeal too.

thank goodness boxing day is a public holiday so i haf time to clear my stuff. intend to go up to SK to do some cleaning too. it's hardly in living conditions at the moment. i can't stand the state it's in. so dirty!!

after i parked my car, used goo gone on the sticker gum mark on the windscreen & it has come off completely! oso applied armorall on the dashboard. looks so much better now. will apply the leathercare products on row 1 & 2 come morning. will accompany my mum to temple so it's another bz day for mi. time for my beauty sleep.

juz did a couple of tests...i love taking these quizes....haha

Email to Sigg

Dear Mr Preuss,

I am living in Singapore & came across one of your products in the departmental stores recently.
I would like to bring to your attention that the labeling & description of the product is incorrect. It is obviously a crocheted bag yet the label reads knitted bottle cover.

I have attached a photograph of it for your reference.

I also checked your company's website to find that the same mistake is repeated.

I am surprised that your esteemed company would make such a mistake in the product description and await corrective action to be taken by your company.

Yours Sincerely
Livia Ang

Sigg website

they are so disgusting they described it as knitted on their website as well. ARGH! and there's no feedback or customer service links where i can tell them how stoopid they are.

guess i haf to post it all over the net den. if there's crochet-ers anoymous, they'll pay a price for their incorrect labeling!

the only contact i found was for their PR dept. well, i'll juz haf to try tat den.

Crochet <> Knitting!!!

As a crochet-er, i am often annoyed when ppl mix up the 2 forms of needlework.

but in a finished commercial product, it is unforgivable!! my eyes nearly popped out of my head when i saw this CROCHETED water bottle bag from Sigg.

firstly, wat struck mi was how ugly & plain it was. i can make a better looking bag any time.

next the price totally disgusts mi. $19.90 for a bag like tis. hooever got tis bag muz be SIAO! pay mi half the price & i'll make u something 100 times more beautiful than tis!

but the final straw came when i saw the packaging. it had the words KNITTED bottle cover on it. i nearly fainted & vomit blood on the spot. to all u stoopid ppl at Sigg hoo can't tell KNITTED from CROCHETED, stop making a fool of urselves!! ur stoopidity is beyond mi!

Sigg is a Swedish brand rite? so the swiss is so well hidden in their mountainous country tat they don't haf crochet? den pls dun try to pass off crochet as knitted! i always say i suaku but the ppl at Sigg even more mountain tortoise den mi!!

crochet originated from a french word & is essentially an ang moh handicraft. but even in the street side stalls in thailand, they can correctly label their wares as CROCHETED bikini & skirts.

u ppl at Sigg disgust mi! such a stoopid mistake can onli be made by ignorant ppl hoo dun even bother to find out the how their products are made before packaging. such arrogance & laziness if beyond mi!

I'll nbr buy bottles from Sigg. if they pay such little attention to their products, hoo noes how they make their bottles??

X'mas tree inside Taka

mi collecting x'mas tree images around singapore so enjoy!

ya, very blurry, i oso duno why...mayb i got shaky hands coz my fone is capable of better pictures but i often end up wif blurry shots...fix the shakes

Nicholl highway bus stop

supposed to mit joc at orchard after work on thurs.

couldn't get onto the concourse bus so i had to walk to nicholl highway bus-stop to take 14 or 16 instead. the bus is damn bloody far away. after crossing the overhead bridge, need to walk for so long to get to the bus-stop!

and i had a false alarm tat i thot i missed the bus-stops @ orchard & would end up somewhere far away. they dig & dig the road & do so much diversion around orchard boulevard
tat i can't recognise where to get down anymore!

yes, u can't see the bus stop from where i told the fotos becoz it was very very far away after the stretch of red & white barricades...stoopid planning!!

Big serving of Mee Siam

Accompanied HQ to Parkway for her X'mas shopping on Thurs nite. after much walking, we went to the basement foodcourt for dinner. as i walked around wondering wat to eat, i noticed tat a lot of ppl were eating mee rebus / mee siam in a very big plate. it looks so delicious tat i decided to try too. found the stall at the entrance of the foodcourt.

wat a big plate of mee siam it is! and very nice too! onli prob is too much tau pok which i don't take. must try the mee rebus next time.

according to HQ, tis stall has been here forever, since pre-reno of the food court. well, mi not very observant & nbr notice till now.

Diagonal crossing at junction

does anyone noe tat there's a junction in singapore where diagonal crossing is allowed?

i juz wana cfrm if i am the onli suaku one out there. haha...anywhere, the green man came on & these 2 indian guys started crossing the junction diagonally. i quickly followed them, all the time tinking i was jaywalking but how come the cars stopped in all 4 directions?

when i reached HQ's office, i asked her why all the cars stopped & she told mi tat junction allows diagonal crossing! WOW! imagine tat, ppl walking all over the junction. i didn't even notice the lines drawn diagonally on the road.

tis shot was taken 2 days later when i went to shenton way again.

Ramly Burgers after spa

19 Dec 05
went rustic wif HQ. i still haf 22 sessions more to go. if i bring someone along everytime i go, tat works out to be 11 times meaning it'll take mi at least another yr to finish tis package....wow!

tis package was bought back in 2001. used for so long, even for my pre-natal massages

sometimes lazy & sianx to go alone so tend to wait a couple of mths between visits.

next time, i'll bring marie along to enjoy the spa.

went back to bedok after spa to do some shopping at ABC discount store & Watsons.

Dinner was delicious Ramly burgers from the pasar malam. very worth it.

for 2.50, u get cheese, margarine, black pepper sauce, chilli sauce & mayo on your grilled patty & your burger bun is toasted too. So yummy!

Tiger Beer X'mas

Way cool! This is the COOLEST x'mas tree i've seen so far!
