Targus cable lock saga

ok, tis goes back in time to early May when my targus lock refused to unlock despite mi setting the correct combination.

see my previous posting tat fateful evening

it's was nearly 6pm when i discovered it and targus' call centre was closed for the day.

desperate, i tried technologies but there was no way they could unlock it for mi.

end up, i left my laptop chained to my workstation for the nite. onli relief was it's so well secured tat i dun haf to worry abt theft..sigh

the next day, i rang targus hoo told mi tat they can xchange the lock for mi at funan but they can't unlock for mi. they had 2 suggestions. either i go thru all 10,000 combinations OR saw the lock off. wat?? SAW the lock?

i told the manager he can't b serious abt having mi try all combinations, as good as buying 4D!

as for sawing, well, i can't saw for nuts lor. i asked if they haf some tech guys hoo haf more expertise in sawing den mi, of course they didn't. so next, i asked him if i were to saw, where do i start sawing, since the whole cable lock is made of metal.

turns out tat targus has special instructions for sawing off their cable lock but it doesn't come wif the lock. the mgr proceeded to email mi the pdf file with instructions.

i told the mgr i need to consider my options and went into my pitch of how disappointed i was in my choice of targus for the cable lock. i chose targus for security yet my laptop is now so well secured tat i can't bring it home...faint

in the end, the mgr agreed to check if he'll b in my office area to xhange marie's cable lock.

but tat's not the end of the story...now for the real twist...the mgr called mi back in the afternoon.

he told mi tat he went out to buy a saw (i duno wat u call it but it's got a big space between the blade and the upper edge of the saw) and tried sawing off the lock on his colleague's laptop.
he succeeded and wanted to come help mi saw off my lock!!

OMG! mi was super duper touched by tis guy. his customer service is totally impressive. imagine anyone going out of his way and going to such lengths to help a customer.

it was quite a funni sight of him seated at my desk and carefully sawing/hacking away at my lock. and he did it real quickly!

now for my confession. when i heard the word saw, wat i had in mind was a saw wif a big triangular piece of blade and wooden handle. someone told mi tat's for sawing wood. well, how was i supposed to noe? mi NBR saw-ed anyting in my whole life...and thank goodness i didn't attempt to saw off my lock wif tat huge saw!
