I hate chain emails
they prey on our 'good intent' or our fear of repercussion if we don't flood our friends' inboxes wif these email hoaxes.
i juz got the msn hoax email and as usual, i replied to the entire email chain informing them of the hoax.
before u hit the send button, pls ask urself :
"are we juz victims if tis turns out to b a scam or unknowing accomplices by helping to spread the msg??"
thus i do not forward such msgs unless i haf verified the emails or my frens are endorsing the contents of the msg or the original sender.
being a kind soul doesn't mean u should b passing on msgs tat may not be true without taking any responsibility
in tis instance, i noe the person hoo forwarded the mail has tried to verify the authencity of it and is a victim herself. tis is exactly wat the prankster had in mind.
by giving a link to a credible source, it gains the trust of the recipients who continue the chain wif all good intent.
one quick way to spot a scam is to do a search at anti virus websites eg.
http://antivirus.about.com/od/emailscams/index.htm
they usually haf beli up-to-date info abt scams and hoaxes
