Cabaret

Frankly I'm a typical 27 yr old Chinese girl staying in Singapore so I have no idea when cabaret is.

That is till I discovered Modern Cabaret on AccuRadio. The music was smoothly delivered & perfect for listening to at work. Which is what I do everyday now. It was unlike anything I know. And I don't pretend to know a lot. I only know Jazz is smooth & I enjoy that too.

The first song I fell in love with was Sympathique by Karen Akers. Sad to say, I can't get her CD from HMV. They simply don't carry her. I used to take French in sec skool so the line " Je ne veux pas déjeuner" really struck a chord in mi.

Will try to get her works & one day, I'll watch her live.

Next, I fell in love with Shakespeare Lied & My husband's first wife. The wit & humour in the songs are contagious. Hearing these songs never fails to bring a smile to my face & light up my day. One more singer to add on my list of "must watch" performances.

Sad to say, I can't find the lyrics to Shakespeare Lied & My Husband's first wife. If anyone can find them, please email mi. bonbon78@yahoo.com Thanks lots!

Everyone is alone

Haf u ever felt alone in a public place before? i was at bedok, outside changi cinema last nite & suddenly had a urge to cry. i sat on the parapet opposite wat used to be the open air carpark & my tears just flowed. i felt good afterwards, like i haf unloaded some of the emotional stress within. it wasn't even sobbing, my tears just flowed freely. it was dark & nobody walked tat way. when i turned around, i could see mac donalds brightly lit & i felt really distant from the rest of the world, where normality reigns. normal ppl dun cry in public, rite?? ; )

I had tis thought. no matter how many frens & family members u haf, u are still by urself all the time. i changed the greeting message on my handphone to "nobody loves u more than urself". Do love urself & follow ur heart. u onli live once.

where i was once fearful & held back due to reservations before, i endeavour to act as my heart dictates. my father is very ill & i wana take care of him. i'm on half day's leave tdy. gotta get back by 1.45pm...running late now. came hm to pack my things for moving back to my mom's place & update my blog. no broadband at pasir ris but i'll still update my blog during lunch. got some fotos from the agency seminar & yest's meet up wif ann to upload. where's my fire wire when i need it?

feels like i'm walking out, mayb i really am. but i felt empowered & quite relieved once i decided on tis course of action last nite. i can b close to my kids again & i'll get to see my parents everyday. everything that i do or plan should centre around myself & the ppl i love. i need to clear the clutter in my life & move on to the things tat matter & will make mi happy.

had a brief chat wif blinkymummy...thanz for "listening" to mi. will find more victims to unload my emotional buggage onto....haha

Too busy to blog!

i'm bushed & i haven even started on my new entries. i haf so many things i made mental notes to blog abt.

anyway, juz wana tell u guys tat from the very shallow & crude ah beng wannabe rockson's site, i linked to blinkymummy whose blog is great. i've added a link to her, do check out her site

her candidness & frankness struck mi as rare & helps set a good example for new bloggers like mi.

i have always kept a journal but i haven got over how much & what to blog abt when the knowledge is so public. of course, i can make the entries private. but den wat's the point of blogging? i'm using tis as an outlet to let off steam & juz write abt anything & everything tat comes to mind.

ok, really gotta go to bed now. ah yeow has been sleeping for the past 3 hours. he'll wake up real early tomolo & want breakfast. better let mi catch up on my beauty sleep.

Went to Thanying Express for dinner. Was sharing the Thai fried rice with Yeow Yeow. After he had about one-third portion of the rice, he kept asking mi if i will be able to finish the rest of the rice since I'm on diet. He was trying very hard to eat as much as he can to support my diet. So sweet of him.

Thoughts of a Phyto-Club member

hihi, i'm so excited abt the program tat i'm keeping track of everything i eat tis wk in this little notebook i carry in my bag. afterall, it took mi a long time to finally decide to do something abt the weight tat i put on 5 yrs back.

if anyone u noe is putting off weight mgmt, let mi tell u tat it's always better to start earlier than later. and the task is not as daunting as well.

from my experience, i managed to lose the weight i put on 1½ yrs back for my second child.
i hardly exercise ( should be never, except for the 12 sessions of yoga classes ) and i eat a extremely full lunch ( if i dun take rice, my stomach is growling by 5pm ).
but simply by cutting down on the amount of carbo ( rice ) of my dinner by half, my weight was going down steadily.

it wasn't quick but it was slow & steady and i was quite happy to have lost 14 kg within 1 yr. i was 64kg post maternity leave & ballooned to size "XL" for my bottoms. now at least i am somewhere between size "M" and "L".

then i hit my "plateau". my weight stopped going down & i was back to my weight 3 yrs back before i had my 2nd child. thankfully my weight didn't go up again even though i wasn't watching my diet as consciously. some nights, i even ate nasi lemak as supper.

i wish i had put in more effort to bring down my weight 5 yrs ago then i won't haf such a hard time but life is not abt regrets. tat's y i have made up my mind to work hard & achieve my desired size.

weight control is a life long process & it's not just about beauty. as we age, we really need to watch what we eat & if we can bring ourselves to do it, EXERCISE! i guess it's abt doing everything in moderation. i'm still going to enjoy my chilli crab & pork knuckles but i'm NOT going to stuff myself everyday.

of course as a bonus, nobody will complain abt looking good & tat will boost your self confidence as well.

Phyto Club Official Announcement

Hi fellow Phyto Club members,
I HAVE STARTED!! now i am officially a Phyto Club member too!
finally made up my mind to shed off the pounds i put on 5 yrs ago. i went to Max on saturday evening for my measurements to be taken & told him i've bought everything & am mentally prepared to start the program now.


i dun care abt ideal weight. i haf only 1 aim, to put on my favourite jeans tat's size 27. YESH! i was tat size 5 yrs ago.

wat prompted my decision to start?
1. the fotos taken on my bird day which shows my disgusting arms
2. the numerous pairs of new pants tat i splurge on in the past but has been waiting for my mum to do the alterations ( for the length ).

she just passed me a pair she altered. she couldn't believe how fat i am when i told her i can't wear size 27 anymore! ARGH!
